Who Am I?

Isn’t it interesting that a blog all about Living Authentically is written by someone who chooses to remain anonymous?

I am a woman who also happens to be a wife to a handsome husband, a mother to three young kids, a physician, a runner, and just as importantly, an avid blogger.  I started blogging at least 5 years ago and back then I was never anonymous.  It was difficult, however, to say what was really on my mind.  It was almost impossible to express what I was really thinking, feeling, and experiencing, without feeling vulnerable or fearing criticism.  So after two years of blogging as “the real me,” I started an anonymous blog where I talked about everything and anything that I wanted to say.  For three and a half years, I opened up to blogging in a way I never had before, and I discovered a whole new way of living: vulnerably and authentically.

How liberating, and therapeutic, and human.

This blog will become a new space for me to explore an authentic approach to living.  Authenticity is not always easy to come by in today’s world, especially when we are accustomed to living without it.  For that reason alone, I have decided to close another chapter in my blogging career and begin anew.

I look forward to a time in the future when anonymity is not the only way that people can be authentic.

  1. I’ve thought about blogging anonymously, but couldn’t work out how to do it so I gave up – I know, I’m technically challenged.
It does hold great appeal for me though. Australians have an aversion to people getting too big for their boots, it’s called the Tall Poppy Syndrome because we want to chop them down. When I blog, I feel I’m being judged as a tall poppy, I can almost hear my family and friends thinking, who does she think she is to put her thoughts out in public as if they’re important?
I’m learning not to care…most of the time.

    • Thanks! I wouldn’t mind not being anonymous, but given my job (as a physician) and my reputation and the stuff that i like to blog about (which will hopefully eventually make it’s way here), it’s probably for the best!

  3. I am a pseudo-anonymous blogger. I use my own first name and most details I state are correct and true.

But I write about controversial subjects and my husband doesn’t want me to get shot. Or to get him shot. So I am anony-mous.

    • That was what my last blog was like – but I didn’t use my own name. Eventually someone somewhere got a clue or put things together… Or something like that and then one thing led to another. But I never talked about controversial things – just my own life. Maybe that was controversial in itself…

  4. I thought you left for good. I was worried. In fact, just yesterday I was trying to figure out a way to look you up on FB to check in. But alas, I forgot how to spell your name.

I like you blogging anon now. I can feel you are more comfortable with your words and your writing is eloquent. Not saying you weren’t eloquent before, but there was a nervousness I could sense when you posted.

In short, I am so glad you spotted me and I am so very happy to see you still blogging. Now, if you don’t mind, I have some more catching up to do. 🙂 Congrats on the new bundle of joy working their way into your life!! Exciting!!!

    • I’m so glad that I found you again, too. I tried my hardest to let my regular readers know what was happening, but a few people fell through the cracks. I missed you, seeing as how you’ve been with me through the thick of things! I’m so happy I stumbled across you somewhere else! And if someone didn’t call you CB, I wouldn’t have known the better! Welcome back!

      • So, I kinda copied you and am doing the anonymous blogging thing again. So instead of following the last blog of mine, you may follow this one if you like. 🙂 I needed a fresh start anyway.

        Thanks. 🙂
